Disappointing Lock

The lock is great in concept being vinyl wrapped to protect from water getting in the shackle or lock opening. The big miss is the coating on the shackle at the end (circled in blue in the photos). It is larger than the shackle end so it does not fit through a traditional gate latch or shed hole used for attaching a lock. Disappointing design miss!!

Decent quality, good value

I primarily got these locks for the gates to my yard. I like that they are weather coated, and that all four locks are keyed the same so I don’t need to worry about keeping the keys separate and I have plenty of spare keys. I did however, feel like the quality of the locks were a little bit lacking. The shackle didn’t seem as heavy or strong, and it didn’t lock into place with the same click that a master lock does. Also, if your hasp doesn’t have a very big hole, you probably won’t be able to get the bell end of the shackle through the hasp. All in all I would call them decent quality at a good value for the money.

HOX 4-Pack Weather Resistant Padlocks

These are all keyed the same which it nice for my application. They were fairy easy to pick though. Time will tell if they hold up to my wet environment.

Durable, easy to use, and nice looking

These are great heavy duty, high quality locks with a niceblack rubber cover making them more weatherproof than most. The keyhole covers are easy to remove, but also stay put, which I appreciate. You don't need long fingernails or tools to pry them open. The locks open and close really smoothly as well. All 4 of the locks take the same key (you get 2 keys per lock), which is very convenient to only need one key for all. The longer loops make them extremely versatile. We are ordered these to lock our gates since we have a backyard pool and they function perfectly for that purpose. We only needed 2 so I feel as though this is a really great value for sharing with friends, family members, or neighbors.

HOX 4 Pack Padlocks

This 4 pack of weatherproof padlocks is a great value. I was looking for something to replace my multiple keys and locks on all of my hard cases. Sometimes it’s difficult to fumble with so many keys trying to open cases out in the field. These 4 locks are keyed alike so that means I’ll only have to carry one key. Huge win. I did have to modify them slightly as the shackle did not fit over the hasps of my cases. Simple enough to remove the silicone coating. I know I will not get the full effect of the weatherproof-ness, but these are never going to see the outdoor/wet weather. For outside use like on a fence or a shed, these would super helpful to keep water out. TIP: I add a little dry grease on the keyway to keep everything moving freely and a secondary layer of protection.

The keys are universal for all 4 locks, good weather proofing, feels sturdy

The locks are covered with some type of rubber/silicon material which is what gives it the weather proof ability. The weather proofing of the locks makes the closing (or locking) of the locks a little difficult where strength is needed to lock/close the padlock. The locks feel solid and well made but the one thing I did not like is that the keys are all the same. One key in the pack unlocks all four locks. Overall the locks feels and looks well made and sturdy.

Weather guard doesn't get in the way

All four locks are keyed alike, they all function well on all four locks whatever key / keys you want to use. The weather guarding does not get in the way and it opens easily also it's quite substantial there are small portions of the shackle that aren't covered but other than that it's completely encased I think it'll be pretty resistant to rust / water damage. Again not a bad little lock seems to be made well for Lockport enthusiast it's not a super tough pick more of a good starting point / practice lock and for those purposes the bottom part of the weather guarding does come off rather easily but there are ridges on it so it would still keep water out when pushed back on firmly. As I said it's kind of an easy pick but that's not something you really need to worry about as far as security measures go as very very rarely is that the way that anyone tries to get into a lock all in all I would say it's a value at this price point.

Weather resistant security all keyed the same

These are plastic coated padlocks in a 4-pack with the same key for every lock (8 keys total). Not just plastic "dipped" but a protection flap for the key hole and small pieces over the shackle holes that are like a bowl (with a hole) to channel water away from the internals of the lock.Anywhere a padlock will fit where the weather is a concern these locks should last a lot longer than conventional "unprotected" padlocks.Just one key to each family member that can open every padlock we use. Two locks on the cargo trailer but just one key (yay). Time will tell on how they endure but the coating and design look like they will secure for quite a while.

Good Looking Design!!!

Very Nice looking design. Quit bold looking with the plastic overmold protection! Nice positive dual shackle locking mechanism. I'd say Very Good rust resistance the way the plastic overlaps and the plating of the metal. Cap over the keyhole not quite as snug as I'd like it to be. Actual metal thickness of the shackle is thinner than expected but with the plastic overmold protection bulks it out and makes it look thicker. Very smooth and easy key open and click shut. Functions well for the price and it's intended purpose in outside conditions.

Decently low security locks

Decent low security outdoor locks. Visibility is important to deter thieves. These have pretty simple keys that are really easily raked. But for their purposes of securing a shed they should do the job fine. The rubber around the shackle is nice, since it wont scratch or damage anything you put it around.Generally this would be a chain so it might not be critical but has a nice feel to it.

One and Done

Unfortunately there are no key numbers on the keys so you can not purchase another set with the same key number. The keyway is the reverse of Master Locks M1 keyway. I dug through my leftover key blanks from when I was a locksmith and found a blank that fit. The blank is an Ilco 1041Y / CG16, the head is a little bigger on my blank and it hits the protective cover circle. It did work when I cut one and pushed in lightly while turning to unlock. The keyway boot does not stay on very well and if I use this outdoors will use a fat rubber band looped around the body to make sure it stays closed. While it is nice that the shackle is covered it makes it difficult to lock. You have to push hard then pull to ensure that the padlock is locked. The measurements are not accurate, refer to the photos as I don't feel like typing the differences in. When compared to my old Master padlock No 1 the shackle on the HOX is much thinner and I imagine the body is smaller since the orange plastic is covering it. The black and orange cladding is misleading as far as the actual lock size goes. If you want to deter a thief then these HOX padlocks in orange are an OK choice. If you are securing something valuable buy a known name brand padlock with keys you can get cut easily at a hardware store. To get more keys duplicated for the HOX padlocks you would probably have to go to a locksmith shop to get extras made.

Decent locks for the price but not great.

They are not waterproof or fully weather resistant. The water can get into the case easy and will start rusting the lock and make the key a bit harder to install. They are inexpensive and get the job done but not the bets quality. I ended up replacing these with Argus stainless locks and much better choice but you are paying a lot more.

Decent locks

These are good locks for the price. The kit came with 8 keys. Lol. They're all keyed the same, so that part was overkill. These work well and will likely hold up in Florida weather.

Very durable, just alot of keys

All good, only complaint is the rubber stops but I guess that's what makes them weatherproof. They're removable so not a big deal. Works great they're thin as well so works for my box in the truck.

Lock me up

Got these very fast comes with extra keys has a flap on the bottom to from freezing, down side I couldn't use them because of the hard rubber on the lock but will keep them.

Just not hefty enough

I returned these. They just wasn't the quality I was looking for. I needed a lock that was bigger/hefty.
